Her sexuality and secretly dating female friends are at the center of rumors about Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift has finally addressed long-lasting rumors about her that she secretly dated majority of her female friends and put them to rest for once and for all.

In the prologue for her "1989 (Taylor's Version)" album, she finally talks about her decision to hang out strictly with her female friends.

Swift reveals that she made this choice after realizing that she couldn't casually date or even platonically hang out with men without people assuming they were sleeping together.

She writes: "And so I swore off hanging out with guys. Dating, flirting, or anything that could be weaponized against me by a culture that claimed to believe in liberating women but consistently treated me with the harsh moral codes of the Victorian era"

Swift, known for her optimistic look, believes that by hanging out strictly with just her female friends, she could alter the narrative.

However, she also realizes that people still sensationalize and sexulize her friendship.

She shares: "If I only hung out with my female friends, people couldn't sensationalize or sexualize that, right? I would learn later on that people could and would."

But this isn’t the first time that Taylor has addressed baseless rumors about her friendships.

In a 2019 interview with Vogue, she denied that her song "Me!" was an announcement of her being part of the LGBTQIA+ community.
